Chippendale Style Mahogany Three Drawer Dower Chest

The case has exposed dovetails with a molded lift top, strap hinges and an enclosed molded till. The hand carved applied shell is supported by three end to end hand dovetailed drawers.The drawer bottoms as well as interior base are white cedar. The molded base is supported by ogee bracket feet. The back brackets of the rear feet are cut on the diagonal. The chippendale sandcast drawer brasses, bold chest lifts, interior locks, keys and strap hinges are handmade. All of the posts are hand threaded. The antique finish is hand applied and rubbed to achieve a rich patina.
